7.7 Million Dollars Secured to Meet Conservation and Nonpoint Pollution Needs

The Spokane Conservation District worked with a consortium of 20 organizations to pull off a stunning achievement by securing $7.7 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). The program directs funds towards conservation projects to help improve water quality, enhance soil health and support wildlife habitat.

“We’re excited about this program stretching beyond our district boundaries and benefitting the greater watershed,” said Conservation District Director Vicki Carter. “There are a lot of landowners out there already managing their land in an environmentally friendly way. This project simply allows more on-the-ground improvements to be made.”

A conference session on March 23rd gives the Conservation District and partners an early opportunity to explain the initiative. Click here for news release. Click here for project information web page.
