Post Falls chamber DO comment letter

“Position: The Post Falls Chamber of Commerce recognizes that water is one of our nation’s, and the world’s, most important resources. It is important that federal and state governments enact fair and reasonable laws that provide water supply protection important for the continuing benefit of our citizens, as well as conserving habitat for fish and other wildlife. However, we oppose the current standard for dissolved oxygen (DO) adopted by the State of Washington, which also governs those who discharge clean wastewater effluent into the Spokane River from the State of Idaho. We believe that this standard, which is being utilized by the EPA in the creation of a new TMDL for wastewater dischargers in Idaho, is unreasonable.”
