Spokane River Closed from Harvard Road to Barker Road Bridge

Wire Reports

May 30th

The Spokane River will be closed from the Harvard Street Bridge to the Barker Road Bridge.

Spokane County Commissioners voted on May 30th for the closure based on a recommendation by Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich. The closure effects all to boaters, kayakers, rafters and swimmers. High river flows and construction at Barker Bridge are the main reasons.

Over the weekend, rescue crews had to pull a woman out of the river after she got stuck under the Barker Bridge for almost two hours.
