Spokane River Forum Conference big success

Thank you to the over 350 people who joined us for the Spokane River Forum Conference and “Our Gem” Coeur d’Alene Lake Symposium last week. With over 30 sessions, there was something for everyone as the region talked about water quality, water resources, green solutions, recreation and more.

Thanks to our sponsors, registration costs were kept low and scholarships available. This made it possible for students, researchers, natural resource managers, opinion leaders and the general public to share their knowledge and network in the four star setting of the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Paul Klatt, a Forum Board member and Senior Project Manager at J-U-B Engineers, challenged the baby boom generation to mentor at least seven people to be “as good or better than yourself” at meeting the environmental needs of our community.

According to Erin Rudders, a professor at Spokane Community College, the message was heard. “I had to smile at all the happy chatter I overheard on our ride back to Spokane,” said Rudders. “I am so impressed by how many high class professionals took the time to chat with our students, treat them with respect, and be enthusiastic about their education and future.”
