Summary of state water quality standards as it applies to Lake Spokane

The following summary was developed in response to a question posed at the December 11 stakeholder meeting asking Ecology to provide information in support of the designated aquatic life uses on Lake Spokane. The summary provides an overview of the state water quality standards as applied to Lake Spokane and a partial list of references containing information on salmonid usage in the lake. In reviewing this document and in conversations with Ecology, staff from the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife clarified the limitations of the referenced studies and described what kinds of information should be gathered to provide a more complete picture of the Lake Spokane salmonid fishery.
