June 25, 2009 DO TMDL Stakeholder Agenda

From: Laurie Mann, EPA
To: Spokane TMDL Stakeholders
We look forward to meeting with you to discuss the Spokane TMDL on Thursday June 25th, and are also pleased to inform you that the core model is available for your perusal.

Core Model. PSU has posted the revised model report and all of the electronic files comprising the core model (see FTP link below). This link enables you to run the core model; and the report includes information requested by you during our web-based meetings or in your correspondence to us. While we believe this model provides us with a reasonable representation of the key processes affecting dissolved oxygen in this watershed, there is a possibility that revisions to the core model will be made in the months ahead – – either as a result of testing the model by PSU and/or stakeholder modelers, or as a result of public comments received on the draft TMDL. We will keep you informed of any changes that we make.

Today we are asking PSU to begin running the NO SOURCE scenario. We have not yet finalized all of the TMDL scenario details, but we expect to complete that work in the next few days and will send information on the other scenarios to you early next week.

June 25 Meeting. Don Martin, EPA, will be our meeting facilitator at our upcoming Spokane TMDL meeting on Thursday, June 25th. The Meeting Objectives are to:

Describe the core model and scenarios

Present TMDL scenario results (which will be sent to

you 1-2 days prior to our meeting)

Build understanding around links between modeling,

TMDL scenario results, and permits

The draft agenda for our June 25th meeting is attached. We have a conference line available at 10:00 am so that modelers can participate in the meeting: 866.299.3188, code 206.553.0775. As we have done in previous meetings, we will break for an informal lunch. If possible, please bring your lunch with you to simplify lunch logistics. A refrigerator and microwave will be available for your use. For those that will not be able to bring their lunch, Andy, with the Spokane River Forum, has graciously offered the services of his organization to coordinate a group lunch order through a local catering business (probably some form of sandwich trays). The price will be in the $12 (or maybe less) range. Please RSVP as soon as possible if you want to purchase your lunch with the group order. Please send your RSVP replies to Andy: andy@dunau.com.

Travel safely – – we look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
