Meet Our Board of Directors

Dan McGuire – President
Dan has dedicated decades to community service, demonstrating how how one individual can make a lasting difference. With a strong passion for the environment, he has focused his efforts on protecting habitats and communities through the Spokane River Forum. While serving on the Board of Directors and working with TC Energy, Dan has helped secure grants for boat launches and river education to promote stewardship and restore native wildlife habitats.

Rob Lindsay – Vice President
Rob Lindsay is a proud Spokane native, river lover, and charter President of the Spokane River Forum Board. He’s also a licensed hydrogeologist with a deep passion for exploring the rivers and lakes of the inland northwest. Rob’s professional career is founded on local water resources; he recently retired from Spokane County Public Works where he served as Water Programs Manager.

Casey Flanagan – Secretary/Treasurer
Casey Flanagan joined the Spokane River Forum Board in 2015 and has worked for over 14 years as a Water and Fish Project Manager for the Spokane Tribe. She focuses on fish and habitat surveys, water quality monitoring, and stream restoration. A lifelong resident of the Spokane River watershed, Casey and her family enjoy fishing, kayaking, and rafting the river throughout the year.

Bob Haynes – Idaho Water Engineering
Bob spent his entire work career with the Idaho Department of Water Resources or one of its predecessor agencies. He served as the Regional Manager of the IDWR Northern Region from 1975 until his retirement in 2008. He accepted an invitation to serve on the SRF board because he saw the valuable service it provided by serving as a vehicle for discussion about the Spokane River and Spokane-Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer.

Allyson Baell King – WSU School of the Environment
Allyson is the Director of the WSU School of the Environment. Her research specialty is water resources management. She works collaboratively with resource managers on messy socio-hydrologic problems using systems thinking and system dynamics modeling. Her work in the Spokane Coeur d’Alene basin began in 2009 in collaboration with the River Forum. Her passion for rivers and lakes started when she was a youngster camping with family during vacations to National and State Parks.

Ken Van Voorhis – SPVV Landscape Architects
Ken grew up in the Inland Northwest and has deep ties to the region’s natural resources. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Washington State University and has served on the City of Spokane Park Board, where he first intertwined with SRF. Passionate about the Spokane River’s history and future, Ken is proud to support the River Forum’s mission as a dedicated board member.

Chuck Murphy – Gonzaga University
Chuck Murphy has been part of Gonzaga University since 1978, serving as Controller, Vice President for Finance, and later Chief Strategy Officer. He played a key role in campus planning, particularly development along the Spokane River and trail systems. Passionate about connecting students and the community to the river, Chuck brings that vision and experience to his work with the River Forum.

Meghan Lunney – Avista
Meghan Lunney joined the Spokane River Forum Board in 2022 and deeply values the Forum’s unique ability to unite a wide range of voices and interests from stakeholders in the Spokane River watershed. She believes the Forum plays a vital role in creating innovative and balanced dialogue that benefits the entire community. At Avista since 2008, Meghan oversees the Spokane River License which governs Avista’s hydro operations while balancing resource protection and stakeholder collaboration throughout the watershed.
