As part of researching salmon reintroduction, the Coeur d’Alene Tribe is currently in year two of a pilot study with partners that includes rearing approximately 6,000 juvenile summer Chinook. A portion of these fish (~1074) will have acoustic tags to evaluate outmigration timing and survival. Fish without acoustic tags will be PIT-tagged to provide additional information. The fish will be released at 9 sites from April through early June. Learn more about this effort at the Spokane River Forum Conference. Register now.
