Since the last update, significant progress has been made on cleaning up the Harvard Road North Site. Delivery of spawning cap material has been completed, with approximately 1,400 tons of the specialized sand and gravel mixture installed at the site to backfill the excavation and construct a protective cap over an additional portion of the site.
The new gravel boat launch area has been constructed, and improvement of the gravel parking area is underway this week. State Parks fencing is being installed around the parking area, and should be complete early next week. Final components of the project include installation of bollards to control vehicle access and standard signage for State Parks recreational areas.
The project is expected to be substantially complete next week, and re-opening of the site could occur as soon as Monday, September 15.
