Spokane River Valley Upriver Scrub Cleans Up
What a great day to be out in the valley with over 100 volunteers doing Spokane River cleanup. Water and land crews were out in force from Stateline to Boulder Beach.
Since 2012, the Spokane River Forum has partnered with Northwest Whitewater Association (NWA)to make the valley part of the Spokane River cleanup happen. And each year it grows with more volunteers. “We’ve worked together to open up river access and restoration,” said Andy Dunau, the Forum’s Executive Director. “Hats off to Valley businesses and residents for showing their appreciation with some river love yesterday.”
And thank you to Johnston Controls and Waste Management for providing sponsorships essential to making the day happen. Shout outs to Silver Bow Fly Shop, Kaiser Aluminum and West Valley City School for putting teams out.
Combining efforts with downriver partners shows the power of team effort. In the big scheme of things, the Forum also maintains the spokanerivercleanup.org web site, helps with promotion and provides supplies.
