Lands Council Sponsoring Virtual Spokane River Cleanup September 19th
Each year, hundreds of volunteers pick up garbage and recyclable materials along the Spokane River. Last year, over 600 volunteers removed over 4 tons of debris from Riverside State Park to High Bridge Park to the University District to Spokane Valley.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and state regulations, the Lands Council’s annual River Clean-Up is going VIRTUAL. That means:
- The Lands Council will supply trash-bags and gloves.
- You will sign up for your location online.
- Small groups will independently go out and clean-up our river on Saturday, September 19th.
- You will place your garbage at specific locations.
- The City of Spokane will pick up the garbage and haul it away.
