Upriver Dam access open

High waters into July delayed the opening of access at Upriver Dam. As with Q’melin Park above Post Falls Dam, these access points are now open.
Thanks to the City of Spokane Water Department, access below Upriver Dam first became available to the public last year. Department employees open the gate in the morning and close it at twilight. From Trent, turn north on N Waterworks Street. A gate and kiosk mark the access location on your left. You can unload your boats and then park on N Waterworks Street. See map.
Most people take out at SIRTI which is river right a couple hundred yards above Division Street Bridge. You can carry your boat up the Centennial Trail to the WSU parking lot. To use this parking lot requires getting a pass, which is available from the WSU bookstore.
