Avista receives new 50-year operating license for Spokane River Hydroelectric Project
June 19, 2009
Avista successfully completed a seven year process to relicense five hydroelectric projects on the Spokane River. The new license sets conditions for Avista operating these projects for the next 50 years. Projects include Post Falls in Idaho, and Upper Falls, Monroe Street, Nine Mile and Long Lake in Washington. Over the 50-year operating license, Avista will invest millions of dollars to address a range of environmental, cultural, recreational and other needs associated with operating these projects.
