Get up Get Out Cleanup nets 12,000 pounds of trash
In partnership with Spokane Riverkeeper, we met the 2020 challenge of socially distanced river cleanup. Thanks to 473 volunteers and 42 cleanup events, 12,000 pounds of Spokane River trash was removed!!
“We did it,” said Forum Executive Director Andy Dunau, “by offering a combination of targeted public cleanup days open to all, private cleanup days scheduled by a group, and providing supplies and logistical assistance for DIY (Do It Yourself) cleanup.” Continued Dunau, “Jule with Riverkeeper provided tireless on the ground support. It’s a great example of collaboration and working to each organizations strength.”
