ICCU Green Team Hits the Water for River Cleanup

Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) made a splash as its eastern Washington and Kootenai County expansion continues.

18 strong, the ICCU Green Team floated from Stateline to Harvard Road collecting litter in hard-to-get places. Check out the photo album.

ICCU builds off their mission of “helping members achieve financial success.” With the motto “green is the color of love,” they walk their talk with an ambitious outreach program that uses sponsorships and volunteers to meet community needs.

Said Heather Morgan, ICCU Assistant VP of Branch Performance, “We live and breath our mission statement by serving members in the best way they need it. Helping cleanup the Spokane River is a great example of how we like to spread the green team love.”

For the Spokane River Forum, said Andy Dunau, the adventure was an experiment as well. “We wanted to pilot if we could put a business safely on the water to help with cleanup.” To do that, the Forum partnered with Flow AdventuresSpokane Canoe and Kayak Club and Spokane Riverkeeper.

“The ICCU team was so positive and industrious, it exceeded our expectations,” said Dunau. Echoed Morgan, “It was a team building for us as well. Our volunteers had different levels of experience paddling and came from various branches. It was a great opportunity to work together and support each other. The guides from the Forum were amazing. We couldn’t do it without them.”
