REI $500 Raffle Winner Selected

Congratulations to Hal McGlathery for winning the Forum member drive raffle sponsored by REI. After thirty-four years with Spokane Parks and Recreation, Hal is happily retired but still very involved in community work and enjoying the outdoors.

Said Hal, “I joined the Forum a couple of years ago because I believe in what you’re doing. The raffle reminded me I wanted to continue to show my support. With or without a raffle, I hope others continue to join.”

So what do you especially like about the Forum? Said Hal, “We’re the only community I know of which literally has a river cascading through its downtown area. It’s a treasure originally acknowledged by the Olmstead brothers. The Spokane River Water Trail brings us back to valuing and enjoying the river that is in the DNA of our community.”

Hal has already wandered the aisles of REI thinking what to select. “I realized,” said Hal “that my step-sons, who live in Montana and are avid outdoorsmen and skiers, would be drooling. I’m think Christmas is coming early for my family.”
