Mountaineers Foundation contributes to Spokane River Forum
Big thanks to the Mountaineers Foundation for providing the Forum a grant to continue working on Spokane River Water Trail restoration and protection activities. The Mountaineers Foundation works with those “committed to the responsible stewardship and active enjoyment of the beauty and diversity of our natural resources.” The net result is to pass on “the best possible environmental legacy to ensuing generations.”
The Mountaineers Foundation grant will help the Forum continue water trail restoration activities at State Line, Barker Road, and Mirabeau. It will also be used to help grow the increasingly popular Upriver Scrub clean-up event at the end of September.
Said Andy Dunau, “Our volunteer efforts continue to grow alongside development of the Spokane River Water Trail. We love the big projects, but the smaller efforts where two to five people come out at a time are just as important. The river needs lots of love, both big and small doses.”
Thanks again to Mountaineers Foundation for helping keep this great community project going.
