Residential antibacterial and disinfectant products can be taken free of charge to a local Transfer Station Household Hazardous Waste drop off location. Materials should be in leak-proof containers with the contents labeled on the outside. No containers greater than 5 gallons.

General Information

Use up antibacterial and disinfectant products according to label directions. If you have any left over, offer it to others or drop it off free of charge at one of the Transfer Stations Household Hazardous Waste sites.

Safer Alternatives: To discourage mold or mildew, use ½ cup borax in 1 gallon hot water. Do not rinse off the borax solution. Borax is not a disinfectant.
