General Information
Empty aerosol cans may be placed in the curbside recycle bin. Remove the spray tip and lid and place them in the curbside trash bin. Empty means the can has no pressure or liquid residuals; it is completely sprayed out.
Brake and carburetor cleaners often come in aerosol cans and contain chlorinated solvents or flammable ingredients.
Aqueous brake cleaners often contain glycol ethers (like 2-butoxy ethanol) and are not necessarily safer to use compared to other solvents.
