Transfer Station's Household Hazardous Waste collection sites now accept water based paint. It will be recycled through the PaintCare program.

Latex base paint and other paints whose spills can be cleaned up with water should be disposed using the following guidelines: If paint is unusable, remove lid and place can with 1 inch or less of liquid paint in well-ventilated area (preferably outside and safe from children and animals). After contents have dried completely, the paint can and solidified contents may be placed in the trash. Transfer Station's Household Hazardous Waste collection sites now accept water based paint.


NOTE - Mildew resistant latex paint may contain mercury and should be taken to a Transfer Station's Household Hazardous Waste collection site.

Resources

Reuse all or give to someone who will. Check with schools, theater groups, etc. Thrift and second hand stores may accept unopened cans. Call your local police department to see if their graffiti department has a use for it.
