A junk vehicle is a vehicle certified under RCW 46.55.230 as meeting at least three of the following requirements: Is three years old, or older Is extensively damaged, such as broken windows, or missing wheels, tires, motor, or transmission Is apparently inoperable Has an approximate fair market value equal only to the approximate value of the scrap in it. Scrap value is currently approximately $60
When it comes time for you to dispose of your vehicle there is more than one option to consider. Based on the condition of your car you might want to consider donating it to a local charity, which can help move along agencies that are in need of transportation. But sometimes that is not always the reason. If your car has been in a collision, though it might not be running, it can be recycled and the parts can be used for other purposes.
