Yard Bark/Mulch
Compost small amounts of yard bark and mulch by placing it in the green yard waste bin. Do not place in the curbside recycle bin. If you don't have a green bin place pruning waste in the trash or drop it off at a transfer station's Clean Green collection site. Fees apply.
Let yard bark and mulch decompose into your garden, or add it to your home compost bin. Learn how to create a home compost bin. Visit Spokane County Master Composters/Recyclers - (509) 625-6580 www.spokanesolidwaste.org
The Mulch and Soil Council developed a Product Certification program to help consumers identify mulches and soils that comply with industry standards and contain no CCA-treated wood. Certified mulches and soils can be found at major retailers. They are identified by the MSC Certification Logo on the package.
