Description
The City of Coeur d’Alene manages two glass recycling drop off locations at Ramsey and Cherry Hills Parks.
Coeur d’Alene Garbage collects the glass and takes it to a glass crusher. After it's crushed, the material is hauled to another location for use in other projects.
Glass is not accepted in the City of Coeur d’Alene’s curbside recycling bins because glass breaks.
“If broken glass gets into a load of other recyclables like paper or cardboard, it contaminates them and makes the materials unusable and unable to be recycled. In addition, glass poses a safety hazard for the workers who handle the waste.”
