The Rite Aid Foundation and City of Spokane announced the KidCents Safe Medication Disposal Program. The program is focused on reducing drug accessibility, medication misuse and accidental poisoning among children and youth.
Three safe medication disposal units have been installed in Spokane Police Department stations. These units are located at the following Spokane Police stations:
- 1100 West Mallon Avenue,
- 5124 North Market Street, and
- 221 West First Avenue (inside the intermodal station).
The units are available around-the-clock to safely dispose prescriptions and over-the-counter medications that are no longer needed or have expired.
Please refrain from flushing your prescriptions down the toilet; they have a negative impact on the Spokane River. Instead consult the Rite Aid website for information on how to properly dispose of unwanted and expired medicine!
