Please Follow These Guidelines to Make composting Easy:
- Please place cart at the curb by 5 a.m.
- Place containers 3 feet apart with the handle toward the house
- Place containers at least 3 feet from cars, trees and mailboxes
- Ensure containers’ wheels are as close to the curb as possible
Holiday Service
If your collection day falls on one of the following holidays, pick up will occur the next day instead. During the holiday week, each collection day following the holiday is also moved one day later than normal.
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
Service Delays
If weather or road conditions cause a cancellation of your service, up to twice the amount of your normal collection will be picked up at no extra charge on your next regularly scheduled collection day.
If you live in Colville, Davenport, Reardan, unincorporated Adams County or unincorporated Lincoln County, your holiday schedule may vary. Please check the service delay box on the right for more information.
Tree branches must be less than 4 feet long and 4 inches in diameter.
Do not place these items in the curbside compost (yard and food waste) bin:
- branches over 4 inches in diameter
- diapers
- disposable wipes
- fibers: clothing & textiles
- hoses
- milk cartons
- pet waste
- plastic bags
- plastic food packaging
- rocks
