Brake and Clutches

General Information

Brake and clutch friction materials (brake shoe pads, disk brake pads and clutch disk liners) frequently contain asbestos. Brake shoes, disk brake pads, and clutch disks can be recycled through the vendor that sells them. Do not remove the friction material. Brake shoes, disk brake pads and clutch disks can also be but in the dumpster with the friction material intact. If the friction material is damaged, dispose as asbestos waste.
