Solutions of detergent and water must be discharged to the sanitary sewer, not storm drains or septic systems. For more information about the regulations in your jurisdiction call your local surface water utility or public works department. (See "Resources" below).

Storm drains are intended to manage only rainwater; nothing else should go down the storm drain. All detergents are toxic to fish, even biodegradable detergents.
