General Information
Water removed from fuel (gasoline or diesel) often has fuel residues that can't go down the drain. If fuel is mixed with hazardous waste, it most be managed as hazardous waste.
Fuel contaminated with water is not regulated as hazardous waste if the water is removed and the diesel is used as fuel. You can remove the water yourself or have a service remove the water for you on-site. You can also send the mixture off-site for water removal if your fuel distributor or vendor accepts diesel mixed with water.
