You can drop lights\u00a0off at authorized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightrecycle.org\/collection-site-locator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Collection Sites<\/a> throughout Washington State.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightrecycle.org\/consumers\/accepted-products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Categories of acceptable lights<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0include <strong>fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and high intensity discharge lights (HIDs)<\/strong>.\u00a0 Also accepted are accidentally broken lights, in sealed containers, such as a plastic bag.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Recycle?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Washington State law now requires that all mercury-containing lights be recycled. All fluorescent and High Intensity Discharge lights contain mercury \u2013 a potent neurotoxin.<\/p>\n<p>Although a single fluorescent light contains a very small amount of mercury, millions of these lights are sold every year in Washington State.
