WHO WE ARE

The Spokane River Forum’s mission is to create materials, events and activities that promote regional dialogues for sustaining a healthy river system while meeting the needs of a growing population.

The Spokane River Forum was created in 2008 as an independent non-profit organization dedicated to serving as a public clearinghouse and information exchange for the Spokane River watershed.

Since its founding, the Forum has fulfilled its original purpose to promote regional collaboration that seeks to sustain a healthy river system while meeting the needs of a growing population. The Forum connects public and private natural resources professionals throughout the watershed. Together, they address issues facing the Spokane River and the Spokane Valley Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer.

Working in close cooperation with community partners and sponsors, the Forum provides several initiatives for the general community that encourage personal stewardship and conservation of our local water resources. These include the EnviroCertified business recognition program,
Waste and Recycle Directory, Outdoor Watering Nerds, and the Spokane River Water Trail.

Partnering with tribal, state and local agencies, conservation groups, universities, business leaders, and interested citizens ensures the Forum’s ability to create materials, events, and activities that inspire individual and collective action to protect our river and aquifer.
