Fluorescent Light Ballast, PCB Containing

You Need to Know

Do not place in the curbside trash or recycle bins. Residents can take a fluorescent light ballast that contains PCB oil to a Transfer Station's Household Hazardous Waste drop off site. If the light ballast specifically states NO PCBs, it can go in the trash.

General Information

Light ballasts manufactured before 1978 are likely to contain PCB oil. If a ballast being discarded does not bear a label stating it contains no PCB's, assume it does.
