Household Hazardous Waste – Special Handling Required
Do not place in curbside trash or recycle bins. Drop off unused wood preservative, free of charge, at a Transfer Station’s Household Hazardous Waste site. Materials should be in closed, leak-proof containers with the contents labeled on the outside. No containers greater than 5 gallons.

General Information
Wood preservatives may contain creosote, pentachlorophenol or arsenic. Wood, if treated with wood preservative, should not be used for firewood and the sawdust should not be inhaled.
