5 = PP Polypropylene: Plastic number 5 or PP plastic (polypropylene) is the second-most widely produced plastic. Being light, heat resistant and sturdy, PP is commonly used in:

- bottle caps and tops
- bottle labels
- containers for dairy and yogurt
- drinking straws
- disposable diapers
- disposable plates, cups, cutlery

- liner in cereal boxes

Do not place plastic 5 polypropylene in the curbside recycle bin. Do not take to a Transfer Station Recycling drop off area. Place in the trash, reuse, or find a vendor who will recycle plastic #5.
