Packing Peanuts are, expanded polystyrene, also known as EPS or plastic #6. Though they are classified as a plastic and have a recycle number the city does not accept them. Packing peanuts do no go into the blue bin and can not be recycled. They must go into the brown garbage bin for curbside pick up.
Spokane County is the same procedure. Packing peanuts must go into your garbage bin.
Sunshine Disposal & Recycling accepts packing peanuts at their transfer stations around the Spokane area.
You can always reuse packing peanuts. Store them until you have another package to send.

Earthworks Recycling will accept clean, dry, packing peanuts. You can find their address on their website.
UPS stores will accept your packing peanuts to reuse.
