General Information
Use all the paint in the container; then discard the empty container in your garbage can. Paints may contain toxic metal pigments (e.g., cadmium, chromium, cobalt, lead, nickel, etc.).
Use up current supplies of paint before buying new. If discontinuing use of a paint product, let other artists know of their availability for reuse before disposing of them.

Look for the word “non-toxic” or the AP symbol on the product label prior to purchase. Paints free of heavy metals are available in almost all colors.
