Yard Waste
Compost small amounts of yard waste by placing it in the green yard waste bin. Do not place in the curbside recycle bin. If you don't have a green bin place yard waste in the trash or drop it off at a transfer station's Clean Green collection site. Fees apply.
Clean green yard garden debris may include: Pine needles, pine cones, leaves, vines, thatch, weeds, grass clippings, sod under 3 inches thick, materials generated from the yard and garden. Woody materials (tree trimmings) may be included if less than 6 feet in length and no larger than 3 inches in diameter.
NOTE- DO NOT INCLUDE rocks, dirt, gravel, or animal waste. Loads which do not meet the above guidelines will be charged at the full garbage rate.
To set up regular yard waste curbside pick up, contact your waste hauler: the City of Spokane, Waste Management or Sunshine Disposal.
