Interstate Batteries has a recycling program for businesses. Their stores also have drop-off centers for residents.
TYPES OF BATTERIES WE HELP YOU RECYCLE
Vehicle & Sealed Lead-Acid Batteries: For cars, trucks, boats, powersports, lawn mowers, small back-up power batteries.
Industrial Batteries: Large batteries for forklifts, back-up power systems and other industrial equipment.
Household Batteries: We are able to recycle the following types: Rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) and any other rechargeable battery at no cost to you.
Single-Use Batteries – Alkaline batteries and any other type of single-use battery can be recycled, but there could be a charge for recycling them. You can check with your local Interstate All Battery Center for details.
Please be careful when storing dead household batteries. They may not be able to power your devices, but they can still produce enough heat to be dangerous when they make contact with something that conducts electricity.
Tape the positive and negative ends of the battery to prevent them from touching any metal or other batteries.
